LUNCHTIME CLUBS

NEWSLETTER PROMOTION

Following the amazing response to the third annual Lunchtime Activities Expo back in early February, lunchtimes at Reservoir High are buzzing with energy and excitement.

So what do the students of RHS get up to every lunchtime this year?

This is the first year the school is trialling a two-week timetable, so the dates/times of each Club varies from one week to another.

How’s this for a fully loaded programme?

For starters, our extroverted creative types get to strut their stuff in Ms D'Ortenzio's dynamic Tap Dance Club and the thespians get to develop their stage skills under the watchful eye of our resident master of the theatre Ms Riossini (aka Stella Adler reincarnated), in the Musical Theatre Ensemble.

Sporty types are truly spoiled for choice: Mr Todorovski (Table Tennis) and Ms Rogneda (Badminton) provide a range of games for sporty types, as does Ms Gray’s specialist Senior Sports Club. Mr Chen allows students to exhibit amazing feats of strength in the Weights Club, while Mr Vass challenges students with tests of running endurance in the Track Club.

More cerebral types will find tranquillity as Ms Tsalkos provides a space for those eager to tune out of the various worries of the world in the serene bubble of the Yoga Nidra/Meditation Club. Ms Barker teaches strategic manoeuvring to a dedicated crew of master players in the popular Chess Club, while Mr Price oversees the establishment of a safe, welcoming space in the RAH! Club.

Fans of traditional crafts have reason to be especially excited: try exotic Chinese Crafts with Ms Liao, creative visual expression in Ms Sarroff's Art Club, or join our tag team of skilled artisans (Ms Pizzy, Ms Scott and Ms Duhandzija) as they impart their impeccable knowledge to wonderstruck members of the Crafts Club. Mr Barker goes old school with his revival of a long-lost art in the Model Kit Making Club.

On Thursdays, Ms Farrugia's Reading Club provides an ideal environment in which to explore the joys thumbing through a favourite paperback, while the environmentally conscious get the chance to impress Mr Irvin with our green thumbs in his Enviro/Recycling Club. Everyone gets to spin cultural stories to a captive audience in Ms Swain’s Indigenous Yarning Club and dynamic duo Mr Sirianni and Ms Gasbarro give eager players insider tips on mastering a range of culturally unique gaming skills in the Italian Card Games Club…and, just quietly, Mr Sinderberry leads his intrepid disciples on a fraught expedition to solve the mystery that lies at the heart of … the Escape Room Club!

The week is rounded off with Rachael Farmer's longstanding (and eternally popular) Board Games Club, while Mr Lyras gets to live his dream of running a cinema (in this case, the PAC) full of patrons eager to watch his personally curated festival of amazing movies in the Film Club.

So what are you waiting for?!

GET INVOLVED TODAY…AND EVERY DAY!!!
