Senior School Report

Senior School News

Our Year 12 Senior School Students have started the school term really well, with our motto ‘Start how you want to finish.’

I would like to thank all Year 12 teaching and educational support staff for setting high expectations and creating a calm and engaging learning environment for our students. They are working tirelessly to get the best outcomes for every student. VCAL Work and VET placements have started (Wednesday and Thursday) and VCE Students will have begun School Assessed Coursework (SACs). We work best when we all work in partnership: teachers, students, and families. Teachers use Compass to inform parents of how students are progressing, and we would love as many families as possible to connect at our upcoming parent, student, and teacher conferences on March 2nd between 12.30-8.10pm which will on via WebEx for Term 1. Bookings available via compass. Please contact Ms Phillips should you need any assistance with compass.

We firmly believe every student can achieve success and we are here to support all families to ensure every Year 12 Student achieves their best possible pathway, whatever that may be… via VCAL, VCE – scored with ATAR or non-scored. No pathway is better, just different.

NEW IMPACT Sessions – Timetables every Wednesday afternoon

This new school program in 2022 is a shared time helping to facilitate many important Senior School programs, sessions and administrivia, such as assemblies, improve study skills, provide high-performance tips, Year 12 coaching, mentoring sessions, continuing to build Respectful Relationships, and some SAC completion among other things.

Early in Term 1, students have started to set goals, have had a session with Mr McNeil on ‘forming the habit’ and metaphorically speaking hopefully have started ‘eating their KALE’ – ask them what this means!!! Mr Sinderberry has also provided students with an information session relating to VCAA / VCE expectations, processes, procedures and key administrivia needed.

Homework club: Study Groups & extra help

All senior students can access our Senior School (C block) after school each night until 4.15pm (Friday until 4pm). They can organise study groups, do private study, use facilities, access teacher help and homework club. Mrs Phillips will be there to supervise. This is a great routine for students to set up to form routines and provides access to facilities in a quiet study space. It is great to see many students setting good study habits early.

Extra Maths assistance – Available every Monday and Wednesday in A Block afterschool until 4.30pm.

NEW Senior Jackets

Students are looking so fabulous in their Senior Jackets and are wearing them with pride. Final orders will be arriving soon. I would like to personally thank our student leaders – Melina and Yoedhzer for all their work last year and early in Term 1 in the design and ordering process of our senior jackets. They look amazing and would not have been possible without all the time and effort put in.

Year 12 - SOCIAL EVENTS

Senior School Sports Club

This is on every Thursday in the stadium. Bring your runners and get involved – This provides a good break from schoolwork, a chance to release stress, improve fitness and make positive social connectives with your peers. * So many other lunchtime clubs are on offer, so get involved!

End of Term MOVIE Night in the PAC – 7th APRIL – Year 12 Students

We will be running a Movie night in the PAC on the last Thursday of Term 1. 5.30pm start. Put in your diary and come and enjoy some food and a film.

Mid-Year Formal – Save the date: 17th June 2022

We currently have a social committee up and running who are starting to organise this KEY social event for our students and staff. Please save the date and check compass for event details soon, as a $50 deposit for this event will be required to be paid to secure numbers by end of TERM 1.
