FAITH MATTERS

MS ALISON WRIGHT - DIRECTOR OF MISSION

Homerooms are continuing to organise donations for the annual St Vinnies Winter Appeal. Although we are locked down at the moment, once we are back at school, students can either bring in money to cover the cost of an item on the shopping list, or possibly bring in the item to donate. Once all grocery items have been brought in, we will work with our local St Vinnies conference in getting the donations to them. Thanks to our wonderful school community for getting behind this worthy cause.

The MK Wardrobe was launched last Friday during the online assembly. Once we are back at school, we will be able to schedule a day when it will open to members of our school community.

Again, if students like something, we are asking for a small donation. All monies donated will go directly to our local St Vinnies. It is a great initiative from the Faith and Mission Committee!

It is difficult being back into, what is now a familiar setting of learning online. I read a fabulous article today about being a good nurturer. I would like to share the following for you to take time to reflect on:

At the heart of the nurturing process is a genuine care for others. If we want to help and positively influence people, we can’t dislike them or look down on them, because they’ll sense it. We must love and respect them. People can tell when we really care and when we’re just pretending. When we become nurturers in the lives of others, we have a real opportunity to influence them for good and for God.

Stay safe everyone and look after each other.
