St Kilda Park Classroom Libraries

An update

I am really thrilled to share that loads of beautiful new books have arrived at SKiPPS in the last couple of weeks.

Teachers have been busy collecting, contacting and labelling their new books so they are ready to share with the students as soon as possible. All learning spaces and specialist teachers have begun building their collection of rich literature that will be readily available for all students with the intention to significantly improve student motivation and engagement towards reading and to solidify positive reading habits.

The classroom libraries will also provide staff with plenty of quality writing to model to students throughout daily Literacy sessions.

Thank you to the parents that have made donations of books that are no longer required at home. We will graciously accept any other donations of books that you believe are quality literature and in good condition. Please let me know on the email address below if you need to arrange a time to drop off some books.

We are also grateful to the parents that have volunteered to assist in the mammoth job of contacting the many new books and to assist in the building of all of our new shelving units. We are still keen to hear from anyone else who may be able to help out with contacting or assembling shelves.

Thank you also to everyone who has supported the many fundraising events that the school have had going as these funds are really helping us to ensure that all literature that is making its way to your children, is high quality and engaging.

If you would like to be a part of the contacting team or the shelving assembly team, please email me and I will let you know the arrangements.

Thank you again!
