Building Resilience Parent Night

The school recently hosted Andrew Fuller, renowned adolescent Clinical Psychologist to speak with families regarding how to best support their children develop resilience. At this night Andrew spoke about:

  • The active ingredients of resilience
  • How parents can develop these in their children
  • Friendship and relationship skills
  • Neurochemistry and parenting
  • Parenting tricky kids
  • Creating happy kids
  • Building self-esteem and dealing with set backs

At our College it is our objective for all members of our community to feel Connected, Protected and Respected. If you need support regarding helping your child please do not hesitate to contact the relevant Year Level Coordinator or a member of our Wellbeing Team.

ABCN Goals

Together with the Australian Business and Community Network, we launched our annual GOALs program on Wednesday, 22 May. This program involves the mentoring of Year 9 students by members of the business community, this year from CBA and Optus. The students were able to meet their mentors, take them on a tour of the school, and outline their expectations of the program. We look forward to this being another successful ABCN program. Thanks to Mr Adrian McCall for organising the program, and to the Year 9 students for representing the school so well.

and finally

As the cold weather is well and truly here, please don’t hesitate to see either your child’s coordinator, or one of the Principal team if you need help with the winter uniform for your daughter or son.
