John Coutis

John Coutis Leadership Event

On Thursday, 23 of May, the Year 7 Class Captains and Vice Captains attended University Park Primary School for a leadership event. The guest speaker at the event was John Coutis who has lived an inspirational life and has turned his focus to inspiring young people to be the best leaders they can be.

John was born without the use of his legs. At a young age his parents gave him the decision as to whether to have them removed. Throughout his life he has faced tremendous adversity, but his positive and resilient mindset has enabled to be the person he is today. He spoke to our developing leaders about facing challenges and how to work through them. He also stressed the importance of worrying about only what you can control and not the actions of others.

Our students were full of questions and made the most of their time with John. As always our developing leaders represented the school well and made the most of the session. I look forward to continuing to work with this fantastic group of students for the remainder of the 2019 school year.
