Book Week at Raywood Primary School

Don't forget that we are inviting all students and staff to come along to school dressed as a book character for Book Week next week. ( Yes, we know that Book Week is officially this week, however, we link in with our MARC Program which runs fortnightly). Our dress up and activity day is Thursday August 31st- so you still have plenty of time to imagine, organise and/or create a costume. We will host a parade at 9am and we welcome any spectators that might wish to come along. For more Book Week and MARC News, please see the MARC section on the next page of this newsletter.

Athletics- Year 3-6

Last Monday our senior kids competed in the Campaspe Small Schools Athletics Day. We joined students and staff from Colbinabbin, Elmore, Nanneella and Goornong Primary Schools as well as OLSH Elmore. Students each participated in a sprint, long-distance, shot-put, discus, long jump and vortex event. The day culminated in school relay events.

Congratulations to each of our students who strived to reach their personal best in every event (and a special mention to Skylar, a Year 3 student,  that ran in the Year5/6 relay due to a student absence).

Well done Kiara, for taking out the 11 year old girl champion for the day- as you can see, she is very chuffed by her medallion.

The  Annual Online  Parent/Guardian/Caregiver Survey is open and we strongly encourage each family to log on and take 10-15 minutes to complete this survey. So far we have only had two families respond.

This survey is conducted by the Department of Education and is designed to help our school gain an understanding about our families' perceptions relating to school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. The results from this survey will assist us to continue to strive to better our already great school.

The survey is open until Friday September 8th.

If we get a  100% response rate, we will reward each of our students and our families a yummy treat to show our appreciation for your time. As always, if you have any questions about the survey (or have misplaced the letter that was sent home with the link and PIN), please contact Lisa.

School Council News

Our next meeting will be held on Monday August 28th at 5.10pm. Please note the slightly later start due to Hayden and Lisa having an online professional learning session from 4-5pm that afternoon.

Father's Day Stall

We will host a Father's Day Stall here at school on Friday September 1st. Students are able to choose some small gifts for their dad by bringing along $5. Unfortunately, due to us purchasing gifts for this stall (often at more expense than what we charge), we are not able to supply enough gifts for students to shop of grandfathers etc. Please do not send more than $5 or give your child the expectation that they may purchase for multiple people, as this can cause some disappointment on the day. Thank you for your understanding.

Bunnings BBQ

It is with some degree of sadness and disappointment that we have had to cancel our booking to host a Bunnings Fundraising BBQ for this year. Our main issue being that we require at least three people at a time to be hosting the BBQ (this is a Bunnings policy) and with no one coming forward to help the available staff on the day, we simply can not run the event. Thank you to Bree who had already spent a considerable amount of time and effort with the pre-planning stage.

That's all for this week- Lisa Duffy
