Principal's Report

CURRICULUM DAY

Last Friday, we had a Student Free Day with a clear emphasis on Student Voice and Agency. A big thank you to the 49 students who joined us to collaborate with teachers. They discussed their understanding of how learning progresses and shared their aspirations for life beyond Year 6. We're excited to keep working with more student groups in the coming months and to keep sharing our learning journey with the community.

PARENT OPINION SURVEY

Our school will be conducting a survey to find out what parents and caregivers think of our schools. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage all families to participate (it will take approximately 20 mins to complete). Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. A separate Compass communication will come out at the beginning of next week, outlining how parents and carers can participate in the survey. 

UPCOMING EVENTS

YEAR 3/4 CAMP

Save the date for the Grade 3/4 camp from October 4th-6th (first week of Term 4). Details will be on Compass soon. If your child is yet to experience an overnight event, we encourage you to begin to talk to your child about the camp and provide them with opportunities to stay over at friends’ or family’s houses to support them with this experience.

3/4 EXCURSION

Our Year 3/4 students are off to the iMax theatre on August 18th to watch 'The Story of Earth' in 3D. Please check Compass for more information.

DISTRICT ATHLETICS

After our House Athletics Carnival, some students in Years 3-6 have progressed through to the District Athletics event. This will be on Thursday, the 24th of August, at Casey Fields Athletics Track. If your child has progressed through to district, further details about the event can be located on Compass.
