Rugby League Gala Day

We wish Lachlan, William and Harry all the best in their Rugby League tomorrow as they

join with Boggabri and Gunnedah Public for the Year 3/4 Gala Day in Gunnedah. Transport to and from the event is the responsibility of each parent. If you are transporting another child other than your own, you must see Ms Traynor in the Office to complete the necessary documentation. Mrs Goddard will be in attendance on the day as the supervising teacher.

Athletics Information

School Athletics Carnival

The School Athletics Carnival is fast approaching and the date is Wednesday 9 August commencing at 9:20am at Jubilee Oval. Children will arrive at school as normal so that rolls can be marked and they will walk to the oval with their teachers. 

We will be doing the high jump competition at school during lunch time this Thursday 27 July and children are able to bring their sports clothes to school to compete in.

Please Note: There will be no discus this year at the carnival due to safety concerns from a diocesan level as safety nets are now a legal requirement. Children that have official Little A's distances for discus are able to submit towards that event and they can be given to me. The discus event for the school carnival has been swapped for foam javelin with all age groups competing in this on the day.

The PTF will be running a canteen on the day and there will be further details regarding this next week.

If you are able to help on the day either in the canteen or timekeeping that would be wonderful. I’ll send a google form to fill out as the day gets closer.

Term 3 Sporting School Grant ~ Athletics

As part of our Term 3 Sporting Schools Grant, students from K-6 will be starting athletics for sport on a Wednesday for 5 sessions under the specialist coaching direction of Andrew Frend (Zoom Athletics Gunnedah). 

Activities will include skills to benefit students leading into the school athletics carnival on. K-2 will be the first group on a Wednesday starting their sport at 11:20-12:00pm. Yr 3-6 will commence at 12:00-1pm. We are grateful to Sporting School Schools for granting us this opportunity. Mr Frend will work with students up until our school athletics carnival on Wednesday 9th August (Week 4) and children who progress to the Diocesan Carnival on Friday 18th August will have the opportunity to fine tune skills and techniques with Mr Frend during Week 5.
