Fantastic French

Bonjour !

Grade 3, 5 and 6 have been using their Languagenut app to learn French words on Endangered animals and Climate change

They listened using their iPads and earphones and then wrote the words as they were called out in class.

It was an interesting task as some of the words look exactly the same e.g. "lion", "change", "émissions" but they are certainly not pronounced the same way!

Students found out that English and French have a lot of similar words in common and this makes it easier to remember words.

However, unlike English, French has a lot of accents and different sound combinations:

e.g "oi" sounds like "wa"

Please remind your children to have their earphones, (cheap ones that can be placed in pencil-cases would be ideal) as grade 3-6 will be doing more listening on the Languagenut app
