Taking care of your Chromebook is essential to ensure its longevity and optimal performance.
Here are some tips to help you look after your device:
Keep it clean: Regularly clean your Chromebook to prevent dust and debris buildup. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the screen, keyboard, and exterior surfaces. Avoid using harsh cleaning chemicals or abrasive materials that can damage the device.
Protect against physical damage: Continue to use the protective case/bag to shield your Chromebook from accidental bumps, scratches, and spills. Be mindful of where you place your Chromebook to avoid dropping it or exposing it to extreme temperatures..
Properly shut down and restart: Avoid shutting down your Chromebook by simply closing the lid or letting it hibernate for extended periods. Shutting down your Chromebook properly allows it to install updates and perform necessary maintenance tasks. Restarting your device periodically can also help resolve performance issues and clear out temporary files.
Avoid eating and drinking near your Chromebook: Accidental spills can cause significant damage to your device. Keep food and drinks away from your Chromebook to prevent liquid damage and the accumulation of crumbs that can affect the keyboard and other components.
By following these tips, you can help maintain the health and longevity of your Chromebook, ensuring that it continues to serve you well over time.
Occupational Health and Safety
Last Friday during our School Closure Day our staff participated in a comprehensive First Aid training course conducted by Stitches First Aid Management with specific focus on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), asthma management, and anaphylaxis response. This training was designed to enhance the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and the wider school community.
The training program provided our staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively in the event of a cardiac arrest. It also provided an understanding of asthma triggers and symptoms. Staff members were educated on common triggers for asthma attacks and the signs of an impending asthma episode.
The training also covered how to identify anaphylactic signs and symptoms. Our staff members learned to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis, including difficulty breathing, swelling, hives, and a sudden drop in blood pressure. It also covered the Administration of epinephrine (adrenaline) auto-injectors. The training sessions included instruction on how to properly use epinephrine auto-injectors (e.g., EpiPen) to provide immediate relief during anaphylactic emergencies.
We would like to express our gratitude to Stitches First Aid Training who facilitated the training sessions, as well as our staff members for their active participation and commitment to maintaining a safe school environment.
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your support and partnership in prioritising the health and safety of our school community.
Physical Education / School Sports!
The Grade 5 / 6 Winter School Sport Season is coming to an end with the Final game to be played against Gladstone Park Primary this Friday. Every team and student has performed to the best of their ability in the right spirit. Every week the feedback I receive from competing schools is that they enjoy participating against our students and look forward to them returning to play in future competitions.
Luke T in Grade 5 participated in the Northern Metro Regional Cross Country Finals at the Kilmore Racing Track on Wednesday 14th June. Luke has worked hard throughout all the divisional races and finished in the top 20 of the 50 strong under 11 boys 3000m event against the best runners in the Northern Region. We wish to thank Luke and his family for the support and hope he continues to grow from this experience.
The Broadmeadows AFL Gala Day is scheduled to take place on Thursday 15th June at Jacana Reserve. In a different format than the traditional game of AFL, our school will participate in a modified 9 a side version. The rules have also been modified to allow students to participate and engage in the game on a more fun and interactive level.
