Parent Opinion Survey- Your Thoughts Matter to Us

We want our parents to tell us what they think!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education & Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents' perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Approximately 30% of parents will be invited to participate in this year's survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted to Sunday 11th August.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi & Greek.

The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September. Baimbridge uses the SMS system to notify parents of their code to log in with a link to the website. Last year we sued the survey results to plan our Annual Implementation Plan and in 2020 we will be looking at the School Strategic Plan which spans over 5 years so your chance to make a difference is substantial.

Please speak to your child's teacher if you would like more information.

VIEW Club

On Wednesday the 31st of July, Baimbridge College hosted an afternoon tea in conjunction with the Hamilton Evening VIEW Club. We had 9 ladies bring afternoon tea to share with 4 students, who each presented a speech to the ladies to help them decide on a project to vote for, to work towards in 2020. This was an excellent opportunity for the students to speak to a range of women with different experiences from the community, as well as reminiscing about their time at school. Miranda and Emilee spoke about childhood poverty, Georgia spoke about wage parity, and Hilary finished on the topic of homelessness among older women. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea, as well as networking with the ladies, and we look forward to working with the Hamilton Evening VIEW Club in the future.

Sheepvention Young Inventor

Danielle Knight, year 7 student, was awarded the 2019 Sheepvention Best Overall Student Invention.

Her invention was "Be Safe, Be Seen Stock Tags" came about when Danielle's friend was driving her to Geelong and they came to a sudden stop because there was a black cow in the middle of the road that they did not see due to it being pitch black outside.

Danielle's invention was the application of a luminous coating to standard livestock tags so they can glow in the dark for approximately 8 hours. This will enable the livestock to be seen at night, for the convenience of the farmers to locate and observe their livestock, for road users should the stock be wandering on roads, and for spotlight shooters.

Congratulations Danielle!!!

Can you please help??

Our canteen is in desperate need of volunteers.  With limited names on the roster in 2019 (thank you  thank you thank you for your contribution to our school to those who have volunteered) we are calling for volunteers.

We do not care how long you can give.  One hour will be better than nothing.

Our canteen has already lost one trading day and the students miss that dearly.  Without volunteers we could lose another.

If you are able to assist please complete the form below and return it to school.  We appreciate anything we receive from our volunteers.
