Parent Opinion Survey

Term three is survey season and we would love to get some feedback from you on how the school is travelling, so if you have been randomly selected by the computer generated process we would love to hear from you. Survey links have been sent out to 160 families and we look forward to responding to your feedback.

Whole School Assembly- Thank you Year 11

The Year 11 students recently organised and conducted the whole school assembly and did extremely well with musical items, presentations and a range of student lead items. They learned a lot in terms of the organisation required to put an event together and will get another opportunity soon to prepare the next assembly.

New School Building Progress

This week I was visited by Tom Kirkland who is the head of the Victorian Schools Building Authority. Tom has taken a keen interest in our project and as the head of the program in terms of delivery, it is great that the school now has this contact. Tom has made a range of suggestions regarding looking at making the most of the planning money and time available to get the best long term educational facility we can. The architects are in constant contact with us and are also excited by the prospect of having a range of possibilities put back on the agenda.

2020 Planning & Subject Selections

The recent senior subject selection evening was well received and well attended and we are now in the process of counselling students and their families in the final subject selection process. Whilst we aim to deliver the broadest curriculum possible, we cannot guarantee that all subjects we offer will run. In the end it is to do with student numbers, but we have and will continue to offer distance education offerings for certain subjects to support students.

This week we have presented the 2020 year 9 & 10 offerings to students in order to run a vertical timetable that will see year 9 & 10 students in classes together for all subjects. The aim is to align student choice in all subjects with staff who have a passion for teaching that subject and ensure engagement and rigour. The feedback so far has been extremely positive and we look forward to presenting more information to students on the 26th August. We expect this direction will not only build engagement but also ensure our students are better prepared as they enter the VCE & VCAL pathways.

Sheepvention

We had a number of students who represented the school at Sheepvention which is yet another example of how well our students perform in the community. The same students who have just received wonderful applause from their work experience employees can now add Sheepvention to their CV. I am incredibly proud of the way Baimbridge College students are viewed in our community and look forward to ensuring they have an increasing range of opportunities to show their skills and civic responsibility to the wider community.

Grade 5 Hamilton Students at Baimbridge

It was a pleasure to host students from local Government schools on 23rd July and the feedback we received was very positive in regards to both our academic and hands on programs.

Contact

Thank you to those parents who have made contact with me to express gratitude or concerns over the last few weeks. I am always available to speak with parents to celebrate success or to help provide solutions to challenges. Together we can continue to provide the best outcomes for our students and help them achieve their potential.
