Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day

Students were showing PRIDE in our school environment on Friday 1st March. They were taking action by cleaning up around our school, this was part of Clean Up Australia Day.

Each year level had the responsibility to clean up an area.

PREP – Junior Play Ground and prep line up areas.

YEAR 1 – Between north (A) and south (B) building, around ICT centre and library entrance. Between years 1 and 4 classrooms and south building.

YEAR 2 – Breezeways, behind toilet area around tanks including gardens behind the fence. In front of canteen and GP room (including garden beds), between Art / GP room and gym, area between gym and music rooms. Garden beds around Senior Learning Centre (please tread carefully).

YEAR 3 – Between Gallagher’s Rd the year 3 classrooms (along footpath if well supervised). Walkways in front of, around and between year 3 and language classrooms and around top end toilets. Driveway behind Year 3 and EAL classrooms down to junior playground entry.

YEAR 4 –Senior Playground, front of school (Shepherd Rd side including footpaths outside the school, from Gallagher’s Rd corner down to outside of the GP room).

YEAR 5 – Around year 5 classrooms, Waldon Sports area artificial grass and courts, east playground, banks of both ovals (eastern boundary). Teacher’s car park Shepherd Rd.

YEAR 6 – Bottom oval & Lori Place car park surrounds, around cricket pavilion. One class to ‘take on’ returning named items in lost property to their owners (type the name into Compass to find the class).

Reflection from a year 4 class…….

We were asked to clean up the senior playground and the front of the school as part of Clean Up Australia Day. Unfortunately this is what we found!!!

Why do people litter when there are bins all around the school?
