The MITS Student Page

When we first arrived at MITS we were all sacred to talk to one other, but everyone knew a few kids. In the first week of school everyone had to vote for School Captains. I never thought I would become a School Captain. It came to the day when everyone finds out who gets to be our new Term 1 MITS Captains. Mr. Brad spoke in front of the whole class and welcomed Antwan and I as the new MITS School Captains. At first, it was very scary but I knew my family was proud of me.

We had a lot of special people come to MITS in term 1, such as the Prime Minister and Governor General. Antwan and I had to welcome them to MITS.  It was so busy being a captain but I’m proud of Antwun and I and our new captains for term 2.  I wish the best for them and hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

Friday afternoon the MITS girls and I went to Rick and Liz’s farm for a camping trip. We stayed there for two days.  Saturday morning we went for a walk through the hills, then we went to get hot chocolate. It was so delicious and hot. We went back to the house and watched the dog chase the kangaroo and the kangaroo bounced to Latoya and to Tatiana. They screamed and yelled and the kangaroo bounced away. After the walk we went back and had a big feed which was tasty.

The next day Rick and Liz took us to the Maze which was fun because it was my first time. When we went back to the farm we had time to chill and relax.  That night Rhiannon, Debbie and I watched the movie  Brave. I went to bed early so I was ready fro football.

Sunday morning Brad picked us up so we could be back in time for our first footy match.

Last term, Rhiannon, Debbie, Ruby and I went to have afternoon tea with Ruth. When we got to Ruth’s house we put our bags down and went into the kitchen we sat down at the table. For afternoon tea we had chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip muffins and fruit. I’m not going to lie they were delicious. As soon as we finished eating we walked around her house and Rhiannon, Ruby, Debbie and I played dress ups. It was really fun!

Ruby and Rhiannon were putting on make up while Debbie and I looked around Ruth’s garden. It was so beautiful and I thought it also really colourful. When it was time to go home we got our bags and Ruth walked us up the hill to Lockington with Toby her dog.

On the 4th May all of the MITS girls went to see the movie Endgame. First we had to have breakfast before we left and after breakfast we ran straight up stairs to get ready.  As soon as everyone was ready we jumped straight on the bus and left. We were all really excited.

On the way there, everyone was talking about the movie but we had to wait for a while because Paddy had to pick up the second group in the bus. When they arrived we started to buy food to eat in the cinema. Everyone was hurrying because the movie had already started.  Everything was dark in the cinema so we couldn’t see were Thalia and the other girls were sitting but Thalia got up and waved us over. The part in the movie when Ironman and Blackwidow die had everyone bawling their eyes out. After the movie, everyone was still crying but strangely started laughing because everyone was in tears.  Back at Lockington everyone was really tired from the movie and it felt like the time had gone really quickly.
