Changing Seasons

Although I’m grateful to be living in a region where we have four distinct seasons (sometimes all in the one day…!!!) and I enjoy aspects of each season, I’m aware that winter can negatively impact our mood the most.

With the official start to winter just arriving, the thought of a prolonged period of dull, grey, cold weather can feel rather depressing.

It got me thinking about the things I like about this time of the year and I thought I’d share a few with you:

  • Seeing the early morning light or late afternoon light shining through the colourful autumn leaves causing them to glow.
  • Collecting colourful autumn leaves and arranging them in a vase.
  • Cooking heart-warming soups, slow cooked meals and baking.
  • Sitting in front of a crackling fire, getting lost in my thoughts, as I gaze into the warm glow.
  • Curling up in a chair with a book.
  • Taking time to watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

What are some things that you enjoy about this time of the year?

What are some winter time activities that you do together as a family?

Is there something special or different that you would like to try to do this winter?

It is my hope you find pleasure in planning some special times and that you have great enjoyment in doing them, despite the cold and grey of winter!
