NATIONALLY CONSISTENT COLLECTION OF DATA

As we move toward the end of term, our Student Support Group has been busy gathering the information required to apply for NCCD funding for students with additional needs.

What is the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data?

Schools must now complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) every year. It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disability.

This is a process that stretches across the year and involves gathering a variety of evidence required to include students in the NCCD count. This includes;

1. Evidence of assessed individual needs of the student

2. Evidence that adjustments are being provided to the student to address their individual needs based on their disability

3. Evidence that adjustments provided to the student have been monitored and reviewed

4. Evidence of consultation and collaboration with the student and/or parents, guardians or carers, or associates.
