Principal's News

Dear St Joseph’s Primary School Community,

What a cold week! You really can tell that we are in winter now. Our students have been showing great levels of resilience during this bad weather spell. There have been changes to play areas and eating inside instead of outside. They have taken these changes in their strides.

Indigenous Banner Unveiling

Earlier in the year, Indigenous students in Years 4 and 5 were invited to take part in an Indigenous Banner Workshop. Last Wednesday 2 June students travelled with myself and Darcy Lang to the Narrabri Crossing theatre to attend the unveiling event. It was fantastic to meet other schools and to see the different banners created in anticipation of NAIDOC week 2021. Our students all participated in a Smoking Ceremony, watched a cultural dance from Narrabri Public School and joined in the chorus singing 'We are Australian' in the local Gammilaroi Language.
