JUNIOR GIRLS

Life in Junior girls can be aptly described using the words spoken by actor Tom Hanks in the movie,  Forest Gump - "Life is like a box of chocolates”  - always full of surprises  - you never know what is coming next. From  Hannah and Tessa turning up at the office door with moustaches on their faces to the amazing competitive spirits of the girls when it comes to sporting activities. it even extends to the girls trying to guess what their temperature is 3 times. Annabelle is very skilled at this, claiming the game's prize of a chocolate.

Our Netball players Louise, Alice, Charlotte and Darcie love being back in training again and Katie is happy to be back at Dance.

Jacinta has been learning piano by zoom, and swimmers Lillian and Niane are thrilled to have been able to return to the pool.

Sophie, Alice and Emma have been busy working out in the common areas to stay fit during the COVID-19 restrictions.

Our amazing creative girls have produced some lovely artwork both in the dorm and during the Activities Program. Kaitlyn and Laura have both produced drawings of beautiful angel wings.

Mackenzie has been busy covering her walls in art work whilst Annabelle has been working very hard to complete her work on the amazing mural in her room. Each week it is getting harder to choose the cleanest rooms with 4 girls winning last week Louise, both Lucy’s and Jacinta.

Mackenzie, Jacinta, Rory and Kaitlyn have been representing the girls at BRC meetings. Jordyn, Kobie, Jasmin, Chelsea, Maddy, Bonnie and Macey are our quiet girls and each has a unique personality and help make the dorm the terrific place it is to be in, with their friendly and caring natures.

The Year 10 girls have been impressive with mentoring their buddies, spending one-on-one time with them playing games, pool, joining in activities or cross stitching.

I have been very blessed to work with such lovely young ladies and will miss them all and Mount Erin greatly.

JUNIOR BOYS

Some cold and wet weather last week forced the Junior Boys indoors for after school activities. Whilst making key rings, chains or anything that looked slightly artistic,  boarders  such as Isaac Gooden, Will Day and Jacob Gray showed the group that they can come up with some creative ideas.

We have a number of up and coming mathematicians in our Junior Boys ranks. During study hour Ewan  and  Albert Middleton, Tom Scott and Ronan Crain are often seen busily working on  their Maths Pathway Modules assigned to them by their respective teachers.

As mentioned in our earlier edition ,a number of the Junior Boys have hit the sporting fields on the weekend to run off some energy and play with some old and new teammates.

Digby Currie, Jack Douglas, Rohan Day, Harry Storrier, Rusty Kenningale, Ewan Middleton, Alby Middleton and Isaac Gooden all play in the Riverina Juniors AFL Competition and Fred Graham and Rusty Kenningale play Rugby League each Saturday. Tom Scott, Benji Leane and Fred Graham are our Rugby Union players whilst Matt Mitchell, Jacob Gray and Ronan Crain are the Soccer stars.

Congratulations to Matt Mitchell (Year 9) who was a member of the Mater Dei Catholic College side that won the Wagga  High School’s Creed Cup Soccer Competition last week when they defeated Kildare 1-0 in the final.

We would like to wish all our  Year 12 Boarders all the best for their HSC Trial Exams commencing next week.
