Year 7

Once again, I hope that you and your families are remaining safe and well.

As we embark on a new term, I would like to thank you for all the efforts you have put in to support your son’s learning during this difficult time. As we move further into our second period of remote learning, it gives me comfort knowing as a St James College community we are working collaboratively towards a common goal of wellbeing and academic progress.

The boys have taken it upon themselves to adapt to the measures we have had to put in place. It has been positive to see our staff and students embrace new teaching platforms. We look forward to working with our students to develop teaching programs that will continue into the face-to-face classroom environment.

I would once again like to extend my thanks to the Year 7 Team who have worked around the clock to prepare online lessons and responding to individual needs. They have worked collaboratively with their students to adjust programs to suit their needs.

Our homeroom teachers are working tirelessly to provide pastoral support. As always, if you have concerns about your son’s wellbeing please contact them via email. If it relates to academic progress the best option is to contact the specific subject teacher directly.

Moving further into Semester 2, the expectations placed upon our young men will be greater than ever before and I have no doubt that they will step up to the challenge. Our staff will be on hand to guide them every step of the way.

I look forward to continuing our partnership throughout the remainder of Term 3 and beyond.
