Year 6 Discovery

This Term During Discovery the Year 6 students have been focused on the Essential Question: "What makes the journey of human existence important?" We have looked at identifying in-depth topics of discussions and highlighted the very real need for understanding and acceptance. In our cohort of students we were able to voice individual opinions without fear or negativity. We are rising as a new generation of acceptance and open-mindedness.

Its so cold at night

on the street

Sometimes in the frost

I can’t even feel my feet.

It’s never nice

to have an empty tummy.

Its just me and my dad

Sometimes I miss my mummy.

The streets are bare

Its so lonely out here

The darkness is scary

I feel lots of fear.

People walk past me

With lots of warm food.

Greedy and stubborn

And in a bad mood.

Being homeless is hard

And the path is unsafe

I have to stay alive

And show that I’m brave.

Poverty

Introduction:

Poverty is rough. Living in poverty is dangerous, and your body goes thru many terrible conditions thru the seasons of a year. It can be life fretting living in the poor conditions, out on the street. That's why below I will be explain, Money Problems, Effect to the world, and the death rates.

Money Problems:

Poverty is mainly caused by financial problems. Only 6% of people living in poverty get paid witch is disgusting. The united nations want to stop poverty by 2030. If we want to reach that large goal, we must rise that percentage to 100 in 10 years. 10 years is a huge amount of time, but if we work hard, we can do anything!

Effect to the World:

Poverty is where you live on the streets. That’s when you try and build structures to keep you warm and safe. But, when howling wind comes thru, it blows over the stuff you built, that causes pollution. After that, it creates global warming, which is another crisis happening now none thinks about.

Death Rates:

The death rate is very high for people who live in poverty. 45% percent of children under 5 deaths are caused by Maturation or poverty. 3.24 Million people live below the poverty line, so they have a towering death rate, which is very sad because of all those young people dying because of poverty. UNICEF says that 22,000 kids die to poverty a year.

Conclusion:

These facts should help you understand more about Poverty. This is a huge crisis by itself. It can be stopped by one small little donation to a trusted fundraiser that helps with poverty.
