Year 9 PASS Surf Trip.

Report

On Monday 17 October the Year 9 PASS students travelled to Durras Beach for the Surfing and Surf Life Saving activities over 3 days.

The 55 students have been studying the Outdoor Challenge unit in Term 3 and were looking forward to getting to the beach and surfing some waves.

The students put their camping skills to work by assembling their tents, cooking their own food and being very self-sufficient.

We had amazing sunshine and some stormy seas too, but nothing stopped this group of students from riding the perfect wave. Some showed natural flare and many showed real determination to never give up trying.

A huge thank you to the staff who attended: Mr Nathan Irvine, Mr Matt Hope, Mr John Preston, Miss Mel Cramp and Mrs Virginia Baggio.

It was a pleasure to take the students to experience their outdoor challenge and see them succeed in a difficult activity.

The students were prepared, helpful and very encouraging of each other. It was also lovely to have two members of the public email the College and give some feedback on how well-mannered and how well behaved the students were while they were away.
