Another great day at TAFE. ASC students took part in play based learning activities both inside and outside the classroom, taking full advantage of the newly redeveloped outside garden play area. Students were introduced to the Early Childhood Education & Care industry, covering how to develop positive and respectful relationships with children, support the holistic learning and development of children, and how to give the next generation a flying start in life.

ASC students had a fantastic time learning skills related to the Hospitality industry as part of the NSW Department of Education Educational Pathways Program by participating in the TAFE delivered YES+ program. Students learned about WHS in the kitchen, watched demos from the Hospitality teacher and made pizzas (including dough), milkshakes and muffins. Everyone went home with food and goody bags.

They will delve into the early childhood education and care.

University of New England - Work Experience

Thank you to UNE for providing our young people with the opportunity to participate in their work experience program. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are being exposed to the higher education system and developing skills and knowledge that will act as a foundation for their future to study and work at UNE.

Hannah's Story.

My name is Hannah Whitton, I am a young Anaiwan girl living on Anaiwan country, and I am a work experience student from Armidale Secondary College.

During my time in People and Culture I have enjoyed working in such a great team with Trish and Errol as well as learning new things, such as using Microsoft Teams and the UNE’S values. One thing I disliked is how short and quick my time in People and Culture has been.

This has been the best experience yet; I can’t thank Trish and Errol enough for this amazing opportunity. I will be forever grateful.

ASC students had a another fantastic day learning skills related to the Hair and Beauty industry as part of the NSW Department of Education Educational Pathways Program by participating in the TAFE delivered YES+ program.

This session introduced students to the barbering, hair & beauty industries. Students learnt the basics of hairdressing, including straightening, curling and popular hair designs for both men and women.

Well done ASC! I’m very proud of you
