NAIDOC WEEK

On Tuesday 28th June, ASC held a NAIDOC assembly.

Very well done to all who participated in that. The dancers were fantastic.

On Wednesday during sport time, Ms Donovan went up to our lovely support unit to help our students with some painting for NAIDOC week. Such concentration on their faces

Thank you very much to a local business who had supplied the tubes for the students to do some very creative painting.

Also during NAIDOC week, the students created some amazing artwork.

Everyone had fun

ASC Bulagaranda Excursion.

On Wednesday as one of our NAIDOC activities, some of our Support Unit and Indigenous students visited Bulagaranda Aboriginal Area (formerly known as Mt Yarrowyck).

The students completed the return trip of 3km up to the Aboriginal cave painting site and heard all about the area.

National Parks and Wildlife officers Darryl and Garth chatted about the native food and also the site. We would like to thank the officers for their time. All students and staff involved thoroughly enjoyed the day

NAIDOC DANCERS...

During Naidoc week the Aboriginal Dance group visited Preschools, Primary Schools and Aged Care facilities. They shared the dances they choreographed with Bangarra School Unit and led workshops to teach students the dances.

Congratulations to the dancers for representing ASC so beautifully.

They demonstrated the NAIDOC 2022 theme of Get up, Stand up, Show up.
