2021 School Council Farewell

By the time this newsletter is distributed, NPS will officially have a newly constituted School Council, for the 2022 year.

Congratulations to all the SC members for 2022, and thank you for volunteering your time and effort towards our wonderful school. I'm heartened by the fact that we have five new parent nominees, which is a great sign of an engaged school community. Welcome to Steve, Hallie, Stephen, Sharon and Tarren, and also to Leah and Heather as the new staff representatives on SC. And a big thank you to James, Aimee and Andrew for your continued efforts.

Reflecting on 2021, it was certainly not the year I expected. We spent a lot of time and energy behind the scenes, in the absence of much public facing activity due to the pandemic. Progress was made towards the delivery of elements of the NPS Landscaping Master Plan, and while I hoped that the work would have physically started by now we are getting closer to delivering some great improvements for our school community. Significant change occurred across the school leadership with first Ross retiring and then Kerrie. It gives me great comfort knowing that their replacements, in Melissa and Shaun, have made the transition so seamlessly and already feel like a part of the NPS family.

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the school community over the last twelve months, be it volunteering your time on sub committees or in school council meetings or by volunteering time and or money, or both, elsewhere around the school. Every little bit helps to enrich our school and ultimately benefits all of our kids, their learning and overall experience while at NPS.

All the best,

Andrew Schmidt
