Our school council members for 2022

Hi, I have Renn in 5/6 MW and Rufus in 3/4 K, and run a small catering and events business. I joined the school council as a community member in 2018 and have just been given the privilege of taking the reins from Sarah as President. We have a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers helping us to keep Lee St. Running as an inclusive, progressive, and exceptional little school that can. I am very proud of the many changes and improvements that have taken place over the past few years and love the dedication shown by the staff and wider school community. With this input we can ensure that our young charges are both challenged and supported through these formative years. I believe that the leadership is dynamic and genuinely responsive to suggestions put forward by parents and the various sub committees so please get involved, write a letter, make a call or join a committee. See you at the picnic tomorrow.

Hello I’m Alison Knott. This is my second year on Council. I have Martha in 1/2 E. I have an interest in young students agency and voice. I work for the Department of Education in a policy role in Early Learning.

Kylie Hansen (mum to Jethro in 1/2B and Baxter in FJ, partner of David) is a cook and baker who leads a team of public health researchers in her day job. She is particularly keen to help promote inclusion and diversity at CNPS for students of all abilities.

Rebecca has many years of experience in Human Resources, specialising in technology organisations that are experiencing growth and change. She has a particular passion for people Centered change and purpose led organisations.

She and her husband Marc have Charlie in Grade 1 in Billy’s class and Thomas currently at Gowrie Carlton North who will be starting Foundation next year.

Briony O'Keeffe is a Senior Policy Officer in the Respectful Relationships team at the Department of Education. She was a teacher and Teaching and Learning Leader for 13 years and co-founded the Fitzroy High School Feminist Collective alongside a group of exceptional students. She has written curriculum for organisations like the Victorian Women’s Trust, the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, and Her Place Women's Museum Australia, where she is a member of the education committee. Briony is passionate about student agency and wellbeing, social justice and pedagogy. Her son Vivian is in Grade 1 at CNPS.

My name is Chloe Hand and my husband James and I moved into the Carlton North area five years ago. We have two beautiful daughters; Quincy Darling, who is in her first year at CNPS this year in Jacqui’s class and Teddy Dream, who currently attends Lady Gowrie but who cannot wait to start school with her big sister! In my professional life I am a Network Principal and I have the privilege of working with three Special Assistance Schools in Victoria and Tasmania. These schools support young people to re-engage in education and provide an educational option for young people whom the mainstream approach has not worked for. I am delighted that our family has joined the CNPS community this year and that I am part of the School Council as Treasurer. I look forward to working with Trish, Keith, Conrad and the broader Council and school community this year and moving in to the future.

Hi everyone. I’m Jess and my son, Vito, is in Year 3 – Ben’s class.

I love being involved in the school community. It is fun and rewarding to work together with students, parents and staff to help our local school.

Some of the projects and events I have worked on include:

writing and editing for the Love, Lee Street Cookbook

working in the indigenous edible garden

walking with students on local excursions

reading with students

Great Lee Street Fete

My other jobs include teaching English, NDIS support work and farming.

Hi I’m Marnie Pascoe (mum to Marlo now in high school at FHS, Alia in 3/4S, Charlee in 3/4G partner of Justin). I love being with my family, baking, and being in the bush or at the beach. I’m a Clinical Nurse Consultant at the RCH and my role is procedural pain management . I love Lee st and the Lee st community. My particular interests on school council are supporting children with additional needs to achieve their academic and happiness potential at school. I also have an interest in Indigenous issues and curriculum. Happy to be contacted to support you to bring issues up with school council or subcommittees etc.
