Now in its 74th year, Education Week aims to positively profile and celebrate the strengths and achievements of Victoria’s government education sector.

Education Week 2018 is all about celebrating the arts and is an opportunity for all primary and secondary schools, and early childhood services to showcase the work they are doing for students in arts subjects including dance, drama, music, visual arts and media arts.

Cranbourne South Primary School will be celebrating Education Week with a variety of events for the students designed to showcase the many talents.

Congratulations: NAPLAN

During the Week of 14 - 18 May, all Year 3 - 6 student participated in the NAPLAN assessment.  Year 3 and 5 students were on a formal level, Year 4 and 6 from a preparatory level for future NAPLAN testing.

This approach provides an opportunity for staff to gain a wider glance of NAPLAN achievement and where we can continue to provide learning experiences that promote stronger achievement and growth.

The positivity and persistence shown by the students and staff during NAPLAN preparation and implementation was impressive.

Hi Nude Food Warriors!

Just want to give a big shout out to 5/6A and 5/6B who had the least amount of plastic in Week 5. What positive role models we have at our school.

Are you tired of washing all those plastic containers???

Then why not try something like this…

New Edison Robots

Last year the school participated in the Woolworths Earn & Learn Program. Our 2017 Junior School Council members were lucky enough to be in charge of choosing the items that the Earn & Learn vouchers would go towards. After an in depth discussion, they decided to purchase new Robotics to support our Digital Technologies Program.

Last week the school received their 10 new Edison Robots and activity mats. The robots come with a free programming website so students can learn all about coding. The Edison Robots are also compatible with Lego which means students also get to embrace their creative side when learning about robotics.

Below are some images of Taidyn our Digi Tech Leader, as well as Year 6 students, Lachlan and Thomas, experimenting with the new Edison Robots and Program.  We all can't wait to learn more!
