Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiad

 

Each year thousands of schools participate in this competition from around Australia and New Zealand.

 

All students in Year 5, 26 students selected from Years 6 and 7, and the Accelerated Year 8 class took part in this problem-solving competition. It consists of five competitions during Terms 2 and 3.  Each competition consists of five questions with a 25-minute time limit.

 

This year in the Senior (Year 8) division William Barrett was the top student, in The Junior Division (Year 6 and 7) Akshat Dev was the top student with Jackson Puddy and Jonah De Vizio close behind.                                                    

In the Maths Games for Year 5 students Hugh Caton easily ranked top student and was placed in the top 2% across Australasia, an outstanding effort.
