Meet out new tutors:
Christopher Leak: Aspiring to become a Secondary School music teacher, Christopher has just finished an Arts degree at Monash University, majoring in Music and minoring in English Literature, and is currently in his final year of a Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours). Proficiency in saxophone and piano, as well as other varied subjects including mathematics have allowed him to spend the past few years teaching private music lessons and tutoring a number of students to prepare for the task of teaching in the classroom.
Perri Espinoza: The young soprano, Perri Espinoza, has recently completed her studies at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music (Monash University) studying a Bachelor of Music, specializing in contemporary voice and a Bachelor of Education (Honours).
A rich creative performer, Perri has a strong passion for Musical Theatre and frequently performs in and around Melbourne. Her credits include: WEST SIDE STORY (CentreStage Geelong), JACK OF TWO TRADES (Jean Pratt Artist in Residence) WEST SIDE STORY (Lumina Theatre Co.), NEVER:A TWISTED BROADWAY CABARET (Western Arts Theatre Soc.), ADDAMS FAMILY THE MUSICAL (Centrestage Geelong), WICKED (Footlight Productions), A SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS (Northern Theatre Co.), ANNIE (Geelong Lyric Theatre Soc.), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTART (Geelong Lyric Theatre Soc.), SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL (CCG), WIZARD OF OZ (CCG), ZOMBIE PROM (CentreStage Geelong), BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (CCG). Perri has had the opportunity to perform in some of Melbourne’s finest venues including the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, National Theatre and Melbourne Art Centre. Internationally, she has performed on the Great Wall of China and in Disney Land Hong Kong.
Perri also performs in various settings as an independent and collaborative artist having worked with Crescendo Music Australia’s symphony orchestra, GOSPO Collective and Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight. In 2019, she was offered mentoring from John Foreman for her work as gypsy jazz band leader/lead vocalist for Monash Sound Series of which she received high commendations. She additionally takes part in writing and composing her own original works, having recently written and starred in her production; IF I'M HONEST as well as her earlier work, WASTED: AN ECO-FRIENDLY CABARET.
