Principal's Report

Pick My Project
We are thrilled to have passed the first stage of the Pick My Project initiative. This is an important funding opportunity provided by the Victorian State Government in which community groups propose a project to be funded and the public get to vote for the project they would like to see completed.
We are seeking funding to improve our playground areas. We are relying on the local community to vote for our project. For more information see Mrs George's newsletter piece.
Please encourage family and friends to vote for us as this would have a huge positive impact on our school. If you have a mobile phone number you can vote... how many mobile phones in your family?
School Direction - Parent Forums...
It is time for our school to write our new School Strategic Plan. This important document sets the direction for our school for the next four years. It will guide all aspects of our work as a school community. We want you to have your say!
We will be holding two parent forums to give you an opportunity to share your thoughts about our school vision, values and direction. These will be held:
THURSDAY 30th AUGUST @ 9.15AM
and
TUESDAY 4th SEPTEMBER @ 2.30PM
Please come along and have a voice as we plan for the future. If you need child minding during this time, please just let the office now.
If you are unable to attend a forum, please complete a short survey to share your ideas. You can access the survey here
Reminder about dogs at school...
As the weather becomes warmer I am encouraged to see more students walking to school each day. This is a great way for families to spend time together and get some important exercise. Often the family dog comes along for the walk, and why not? its a great opportunity.
If you do walk your dog to school at the beginning or end of the day please remember a few key points that our community appreciates:
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times. This helps maintain your control over the dog. many young people in our school community find dogs a little overwhelming and are reassured when the dog is on a leash.
- Dogs are to remain outside the school grounds. If you walk your dog to school, please say goodbye to your child at the gates. At the end of the day, arrange to meet your child at a specific gate. Dogs are not to be brought on to school grounds during school hours. You are welcome to walk your dog and play on school grounds outside of school hours.
- Dogs must be attended to at all times. Please do not leave your dog tied up outside the school gates. It is important that they are supervised and that you are there to support any interaction between a young child and your dog.
