Reviews from Work Experience

Work Experience
Congratulations to all Year 10 students who completed their Work Experience placements this year. The most popular work types were Primary Teaching, Retail and Carpentry/Building. All students successfully completed their online General and Industry Module Occupational Health & Safety tests. St Bede’s College provided 36 students the opportunity to undertake additional training for the Construction Induction Card.
A special thank you is extended to the employers below who have continued to support our program and provide a wonderful opportunity for St Bede’s students to observe and undertake duties in their organisation.

Edward McGarry – Back In Motion Mentone
Fantastic student, an absolute delight. We hope to see him back here in a few years if he chooses to study physiotherapy.
Daniel Kenny - Atkinson Pontifex P/L
Very impressed with Daniel. If he decided that carpentry was his passion, we would certainly consider him for an apprenticeship.
Dawit McNeish - Seaview Health Group
Dawit was a pleasure to have in the clinic for the week. He was very enthusiastic and very keen to learn as much as possible in the time here. He was also very respectful of the clients and was happy to help out any time he was needed. He is welcome back any time.
Jackson Gillespie - Victorian Amateur Football Association
Jackson used his initiative on several occasions when an opportunity presented itself. He also wanted to understand why certain jobs were done and how they linked with the operations which we found was a mature attitude. Jackson adapted to the environment, interacting with the other departments with an understanding of how they serviced the stakeholders.
Anthony Afferi - Redline Engineering
We were very pleased with Anthony's willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions. He is a hard worker with an aptitude for this field. We would recommend Anthony contact us once he has completed Year 12, if he has a desire to undertake an Apprenticeship in CNC Machining.
Liam Turner – Complete Business Services
He is working here as an Accounts Assistant Part time now (2 nights/week).
Nathan Mayberry - St John Vianney Primary School

Nathan completed tasks to a high standard. The staff were very happy to have him on board during the week. He is interested in becoming a teacher and he displays all the qualities of a caring teacher, a good example to others and even leadership skills.
James Marshall - Perri Projects
I was really impressed with James' attitude and effort. He showed great maturity for a Year 10 student.
Thomas Ingmire – Kingston Council
Thomas was a pleasure to have as a work experience candidate. He picked up instructions quickly and undertook all work well. If he was unsure he would ask for assistance. He worked well by himself and was always busy. I wish Thomas all the best in the future.
Flynn McGaw – Collingwood FC
Great feedback from the Sports Science Department with Flynn's great work ethic and ability to jump in and do what was required with little follow up. It was also highlighted how proactive he was and willing to do anything he could to help and assist at all times. Would be gladly welcomed back because of his A grade attitude.
Alex Tennant – Land Management Surveys
Alex was great. He was helpful and seemed interested. If he went down the surveying path he would be welcome to speak to us about training/part time employment during his studies.
Sam Smith - BHM Automotive
Sam was a pleasure to have in the workplace - if he was interested we would offer him an apprenticeship.
Kane Hutchinson – Cricket Victoria
Kane was an absolute pleasure to have in the office, everyone that he worked with commented on his engagement including some of the players from the Victorian Bushrangers. Kane was very involved in everything he did and took on every opportunity with open arms.
Will Clifton – Angry Chair
Magnificent - any students of this calibre are welcome to come to ANGRY Chair in the future. Will's interest and enthusiasm made him a pleasure to have on our team for the week and his sense of humour made us laugh more than we all expected.
