Technology

Term 3

It is a busy time in the Technology Centre. The Year 8s are busy finishing their uniquely designed and built timber pencil cases, metal pot plant holders and bird feeders. Some of our Year 8 students are trialling a new environmentally aware recycling program under the guidance of Mrs Bourke.  Looking forward to some interesting products from this new initiative.

The metal room is a buzz with the construction of fire braziers, wine racks and water features as the Year 9 and 10 students display their considerable design and metal working talents. The woodwork rooms are packed to the rafters with quality built tables and foot stools constructed in the wood elective as students utilise a range of advance technologies and techniques including the use of CAD CAM to access our new laser cutter/engraver.

Our senior students are equally busy designing and constructing a range of products including docking stations, hover crafts, tennis ball cannons, interactive clocks, outdoor furniture, entertainment units and a host of other innovative products.

Staff and students alike are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Art, Media and Technology Show in October as the quality of the work is, as usual, is second to none.
