Welcome to the students, families and staff of Senior School 2020 and a special welcome to our new students. As the new school year commences, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce the Senior School Team:

Year 12 Coordinator – Laura Brancatella

 VASS Coordinator – Meagan Garnham

The Senior School Team, along with the class teachers, is really looking forward to working with students this year. Our goal is about giving students at Glen Eira College the best chance of achieving successful outcomes from their Senior School years. In doing this we aim to continue to set high expectations that we are confident our students can reach.

On the whole, most students seem to have made a positive start to the year. Now is the time for students to get organised and set up for the year. Students are reminded to manage their time accordingly and prepare fully for upcoming SACs  and assignments. It is very important to us that parents and guardians have a good working relationship with staff. Working together we can ensure the successful progress of each student.

Year 10 Work Experience

I would like to point out to parents and carers of Year 10 students that our Work Experience Program and the Year 10 Camp will both run during the first week of term 4.

As the College grows it gets more and more difficult to find work experience placements for all students. We have had large numbers of students over the past few years rely on the school to find them a work experience placement and many of these students have been reluctant to participate in the program at all. Our aim when running the two programs in the same week is to give students the option of not participating in work experience if they are attending camp.

Students who wish to be involved in both programs can participate in work experience during the term holidays. Glen Eira College will continue to support these students with their work experience in the same way we support all students doing work experience.

If you would like more information please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Heather Palm, Student Pathways and Work Experience Coordinator.
