State Athletics Championships

Last Thursday, Jeremiah (6S) and Raena (5R) competed at the State Athletics Championships at Lakeside Stadium. To reach this stage of the competition, out of thousands of students, is a brilliant achievement. Jeremiah and Raena have really embraced the student values of ‘Be Inspired’ and ‘Be Engaged’. They both train consistently and have a passion to succeed and be the best they can be. This dedication and commitment is fantastic to see and we are very proud of Jeremiah and Raena!

Jeremiah competed in two events, finishing in 10th place in Discus and winning the BRONZE MEDAL for Triple Jump, achieving a Personal Best jump of 10.50cm! Raena competed in the 800m running extremely well, finishing in 7th place and only missing her personal best time by half a second!

Well done to both students!

Softball Division Finals

Last Wednesday, the Year 5/6 girls continued their great Softball achivements by winning the Division Finals competition at Kingston Heath Reserve. Thanks to Mr Kato who trains the team before school and at lunchtimes – this dedication is paying off! The team will now play in the Region Finals on 11th November. Good luck!

Lacrosse Gala Day

A selection of students participated in the District Lacrosse day this week. This is a new sport for our students and everyone had a great day in the sunshine. The boys and girls teams were identified as showing the best sportsmanship on the day which is a great reflection of the students. Some highlights from the day were:

  • Stacey’s great catching and running with the ball
  • Liv’s ‘never give up’ attitude
  • Mitchell’s leadership and great overall play
  • Jeremiah’s catching and interceptions
