Energy Breakthrough HPV

Hayley George and April George

Hi all,

This year Kingswood Primary School is entering one HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) team into the race at Maryborough in November, which consists of 11 Year 5/6 students. Our team name is Cosmos Conquerors. We have been training on the recumbent bikes in the hall once a week as well as doing training on the weekends. We have met up multiples times to seek for sponsorship in Dingley and the surrounding area. We would like to say thank you to our sponsors who have donated so far.

Major sponsorships:

Ace Waste

Truck Servicing Solutions

Minor sponsorship:

Mona’s Bakehouse

Neighbourhood Watch

Woolworths Dingley Village

On the 12th of October, our team raced at Casey Fields. It was a really enjoyable experience.  Everyone had a great time and enjoyed pushing themselves in the race. We were able to practice pit stops, overtaking and using our mirrors. We had to use gears on the hills.

Thank you to Forbes for filling in and making this day possible. Thank you to all the parents who came along and gave up their time to help us out.

We have done 2 luncheons so far and the next fundraiser that we are doing is the ICE CREAM SUNDAE BAR fundraiser on the 13th of November. There are three different toppings which are Strawberry, Chocolate and Caramel. $2 per sundae. The offer is still open to everyone on compass but will close on the 7th of November.

We are planning to do a big reveal on the 15th of November at the senior assembly that includes the reveal of the car and the t-shirts. At Casey Fields the colours of the vehicle were still the school colours because the car had not been vinyl wrapped. We hadn’t received our tops yet either.

We hope you will follow us on our journey to Maryborough and thank you to everyone who has already supported us.

Thanks.
