Rainbows and Promises:

This week during remote learning our Year 5/6 students have been preparing for Confirmation  using a special family booklet that parents can use at home. If you are like me then when you walk around your neighbourhood you may have seen rainbows in windows in fact rainbows everywhere. Why rainbows I wonder? How do you feel when you see a rainbow? I know pictures of rainbows were specifically to help children cope however I also feel rainbows make everyone feel better.

Looking at Promises there are many examples of God in the Old Testament making and keeping His promise (Noah in Genesis 9, Abraham Genesis 17). We also have many examples of Jesus fulfilling His promises in the New Testament (Pentecost Acts 2).

God made a promise that he would care for every living creature:

'The rainbow that I have put in the sky will remind you the I will keep this promise forever.

Whenever I see the rainbow in the sky I will always remember the promise that I have made.'

Family Activity: You may like to paint or draw a rainbow, make a lego rainbow ,write a poem, make rainbow cupcakes and share a promise you may make.

You may take a photo and send it to me so I can share in the next newsletter. To get you started here is a song from the happiest place on earth. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANHRk9tjFF0
