Year Six News

There's no better way to finish a term in Year Six than with a thought from good old Dr Seuss. The author famously said, 'it's not about what it is, it's about what it can become.' When we set out to remote teach and learn and adapt to a new normal, it was strange and unnatural, yet what it has become is more than that. It has become an experience that has seen character strengths develop and flourish. As teachers, it has been inspiring to see students rise to many challenges. Although working in isolation, friendships have been strengthened and connections between us become ever more important. The start of the coming term will see us continue to work in this strange and unnatural way, but we are excited about what it will become, another time of huge growth and discovery. We began the first remote time with this quote:

I will teach you in a room,
I will teach you now on Zoom.
I will teach you in your house.
I will teach you with a mouse.
I will teach you here and there.
I will teach you because I care.
So just do your very best
And don't worry about the rest.

Thank you to all the Year Six students and families for doing their very best this term and last. To finish with another Dr Seuss thought, 'sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.' Thanks for the memories from this term, Year Six; here's to making some more next term.
