Year 8 Italian - A cultural infusion

The challenge was put out…How do we engage students and provide some cultural exposure? This question is always in the forefront of discussion when it comes to teaching a LOTE and especially poignant in this current situation. The teachers of Italian at Marian considered the possibilities rather than the limitations that this question posed in relation to remote learning, the students find themselves in. What was the outcome of the thinking? It was decided that students would look at Italian film and provide an interpretation or reimagining of the film…well, at least the movie poster.

Students were asked to choose a film, investigate the publicity poster and recreate/reimagine it. It is fair to say that the results were both brilliant and outright hilarious. See what you think?
