Year 9 to 12 Examinations and Assessments

Congratulations to all of our Unit 3/4 students for their positive approach and application in the General Achievement Test (GAT) last week. This week, on Wednesday, these students will be sitting a practice exam in our Marian Trial Exam Session. This trial exam session is designed to provide one complete practice exam session, run under similar conditions to the final VCAA examinations. Students will receive targeted feedback from this exam and other practice exams that they have been completing in their classes. They should ensure that they use this feedback as they continue their preparations for the final VCAA examinations.

The VCAA examination period for our Year 12s, and other students studying Unit 3/4 Studies, commences on Tuesday 10 November.

For Year 11 students, Marian Semester 2 Examinations will commence on Thursday 12 November and conclude on Wednesday 18 November. Even though all of our students have experienced a disrupted year, it is still important that students prepare diligently for these examinations to assist their preparation for Year 12 into 2021. The timetable will be published on the SEQTA Examination Information Portal Page for students and parents.  A letter providing all details will be distributed shortly.

Because of the later return to onsite learning, our Year 9 and 10 students will not have an examination block this semester. It is important that they have face-to-face time with their teachers on their return to the College. Assessments will be completed in their classrooms with their regular teacher.

Commencement Classes and VCE Resources for 2021

On Monday 23 November, students going into the Years 11 and 12 VCE pathway will commence their 2021 classes. It is essential that students attend all of the scheduled classes as important coursework will be covered. These classes and the holiday home learning set will provide the basis on which to build VCE success in 2021.

To be prepared, students must ensure that they have purchased all of the required resources prior to these classes. The VCE Resource Lists 2021 are available on the SEQTA Engage and Learn Welcome Page and students will receive confirmation of the subjects that they are enrolled in this week.

This year, resources will be ordered through Campion and will be delivered to the home address given, prior to the Commencement Classes. Edrolo resources will be ordered separately and details will be provided soon.

Our current Year 9 students, who have enrolled in an acceleration study for 2021, attend the VCE Unit 1 Commencement Classes and will also require the VCE resources for those classes.

There will also be a VCAL Orientation Program for all students enrolled in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning for 2021.
