BOOK EXCHANGE
Last Friday our students participated in a book exchange to raise awareness and funds for The Opening the Doors Foundation, which is an Aboriginal-led community organisation supporting educational opportunities for Aboriginal children. The Foundation enables Aboriginal students to participate fully and equally in education, and supports their families to make their own choices about their children’s future.
The exchange was led by our FIRE Carriers students - (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education). At St Joseph’s we have been commissioned to help raise awareness and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander cultures and raise awareness of reconciliation in our school community.
We raised $60 and the students had lots of fun choosing books!
We thank all of the St Joseph’s community for your support.
