Year 12 Exams

The events of the past two weeks have dramatically impacted the preparation of our Year 12 students and those Year 11 students undertaking a Year 12 subject, in the lead up to their exams. We are incredibly proud of the resilience and determination they have demonstrated during this time.

For those students who have elected to undertake their exams we wish you all the very best over the coming weeks. The support from our wider Catholic Community has been amazing.

Below are a few of the messages of support for our Year 12 students sent from students in Year 9 at Sacred Heart College in Kyneton:

"I cannot begin to imagine the struggle you all must be going through during these difficult times. I hope that you are all staying safe and wish you the best of luck!" (Saskia)

"I hope you are staying safe and can keep your animals and livestock safe during this challenging time. I hope you will be able to complete the exams that you have worked hard for and achieve everything you hope for." (Katie)

"We heard about the terrible floods and are sending all our love and best wishes. We wish we could fix this problem, but as we can't all we can give is our loving support and prayers." (Hilde)

Year 10 and 11 Exams and Step Up to VCE

For our Year 10 and 11 students, we have decided to cancel Semester 2 Examinations. This will allow teachers and students to use this time to finalise their Semester 2 learning and assessment. The last day for Year 10 and 11 classes will now be Friday 18 November. This will lead into the Step Up to VCE Program for all students undertaking VCE in 2023 which will run from Monday the 21 November to Friday 2 December.

VCE Subject Confirmation and Booklists

The 2023 Subject Confirmation letters for students in Years 10 and 11 regarding their VCE program in 2023 were emailed to students this week. For those students in Year 9 that were successful in their application to undertake a VCE or VET subject in 2023, you will have received an email confirming this to allow you to order your VCE resources . The due date for the VCE Booklist has been extended to Sunday 30 October. Orders received by this date will be posted free of charge and be delivered in time for your Step Up to VCE Program, which commences on Monday 21 November.

Student Learning this Week

We hope that students across Years 7-11  have been able to access their self-directed learning program on SIMON this week.  We understand from our experiences of the last few years with COVID,  that it is important for students to maintain a connection to school and their learning during challenging times.

We hope to be back together at St Joseph’s College next Wednesday November 2.
