Our Acknowledgment of Country

We acknowledge that we learn, grow, create and celebrate on Wurundjeri Country. 

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share the glorious land, sky, waterways, and wonderful wildlife with the traditional owners.

Exploring Country brings us joy, happiness and peace. 

We will continue our connection with Country through respectful play, by caring for our community and the environment and engaging in learning that challenges injustice and leads change.

Boroondara Youth Leadership Day

Next Thursday 10 November, our Year 5 and 6 students will be participating in the Boroondara Youth Leadership Day at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. The students will be involved in three workshops, covering the following topics:

·       Civics, Local Government and Youth Leadership opportunities, facilitated by Boroondara young leaders from our Youth Parliament and Youth Voice

·       Everyday leadership, exploration of students own unique leadership skills and the qualities and values of an effective leader from Mini Boss Incursions

·       Communication, team work  and critical thinking,  facilitated by dance industry professionals from The Space, Dance and Arts Centre 

Year 6 Leadership Opportunies in 2023

Over the next few weeks, our Year 5 students will be preparing applications and speeches for one or more of the many Year 6 Leadership opportunities that will be offered in 2023. The Leadership roles in 2023 have been expanded to include the following areas and all students are encouraged to apply:

School Captains x2

House Captains x4

Social Justice/Wellbeing Captains x2

The Arts Captains x2

Sustainability Captains x2

Library Captains x2

Year 5 students will be presenting their speeches to staff and students in Years 3 - 6 on Tuesday 29 November.

Gardening Club and Environmental Monitor News

Our succulents will be on sale after school on Friday 11 November, outside the Office.

Wash your hands!

Thank you to Beatrix G (4TH) who has kindly created posters to be displayed in our school bathrooms to remind students of the importance of washing their hands. Beatrix's posters also include the Steps of Hand Washing. 

Interschool Sport Uniforms

There are a number of Year 5/6 Interschool Sport Uniforms that have not been returned. Please check your house for any items and ensure they are washed before returning them to the Classroom teacher.
