Principal's message

REFLECTION:

ADVENT:

The Advent season begins this weekend on Sunday  27th November.  Our advent mass will be held at 12pm on Friday 2nd of December.

We observe Advent as a four-week period of spiritual preparation anticipating the birth of Jesus.

The word Advent means “coming”.

We commemorate the coming of Jesus in Bethlehem (past),

we prepare for His final coming at the end of the world (future),

and we celebrate His coming in our hearts today (present).

Dear Parents and Friends,

Next Monday, our Grade Five students head off to Harrietville for their outdoor camp at Feathertop Chalet. They will be followed on Tuesday by our Grade Six students.  We hope all our children  have a great outdoor education experience. We ask that parents ensure that their child does not bring a phone with them to camp -  under no circumstances are phones to be taken.  Thank you for your cooperation with this.

I thank the parent volunteers who are supporting the staff and students on this excursion, and our wonderful staff who have spent many hours planning for this exciting trip.

Staffing Update

Danielle O’Grady (Foundation teacher) will be leaving St. Bernard’s at the end of the year.  We thank Danielle for all she has contributed to our school and wish her all the best for her future endeavours. We will be advertising for a classroom teacher for 2023, this week.

Library News:

The final date for borrowing books from our school library will be this Friday 24th November.  Angie, our Library Technician, is currently training to update our library system to a new program.

We would appreciate it if all books could be returned to the library by Friday 2nd December.  Please hunt under beds and on your bookshelves for school library books!

We encourage families to use our town library with their children over the holiday break.
