Term 4 Week 8 – Friday 25th November

What we are learning in weeks 9 & 10:

Reading:

In reading we are continuing to look at narrative writing with a focus on the problem and the solution.

Writing:

In writing we will continue with our weekend recount writing as well as continuing with creating our own narratives.

Spelling:

This term we will continue to introduce new words each week as part of our SMART smelling program. As always, we focus on the sounds of each letter in the word of the week and explore other words with the same sounds. By asking your child what the word of the week is and the sounds of the letters, it will provide a great opportunity for conversation about their learning at school.

Mathematics:

In Maths we will continue looking at skip counting as well as looking into money, its value and what notes and coins look and feel like.

Inquiry/Science:

Our Inquiry/Science unit this term is weather. We had a wonderful incursion from Mad about Science so we will reflect on what we learnt there as well as continue with our own learning about weathers in Australia and in different countries around the world.

Leader in Me:

During Leader in Me we will be focussing on the different habits and how they can help us while at school as we prepare the class for their transition to grade 1.

Please continue to check blue pouches nights for notices sent home. We encourage nightly reading of student readers.

Friendly Reminders

* Please continue to pack a fruit snack and a recess snack even if your child has a lunch order as these aren’t delivered to the school until 1pm

* Please endeavour to test sight words nightly and return them to school weekly on FRIDAYS.
