From the Principal

Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Working Bee Wed Nov 30thThe next working bee is this Wednesday 3.45 pm-5.00 pm. This is the day before Le Page Primary School’s Leadership Morning, and will be timely, to weed garden beds, pathways and concrete cracks. The soft-fall (mulch) will also be raked back under the play equipment to maintain safe levels. Parents who can spare an hour, are encouraged to come along with gardening gloves, tools, wheelbarrows and rakes, to help us get back on track, with having a tidy school yard. Many hands make light work. Attendance can be registered via email le.page.ps@education.vic.gov.au or phone 9583 8342.

Scholastic Book Fair

Le Page Primary School will host its first Scholastic Book Fair from next Monday, the 28th of November, to Friday, the 2nd of December. The fair will be set up in the library area in the BER building and open every day from 8.30-9.00 am and 3.30-4.00 pm. Scholastic is providing books, posters and other items for sale. There will be something for everybody: picture, chapter, and activity books and more. The market will be cashless. It will not be open during school hours and children will not be able to buy items unaccompanied.  A share of all sales will go straight back to the school. This fair will be a wonderful fundraising opportunity whilst allowing families to have a look at books together.

Neuro Diverse & Aware WhatsApp Invitation

Emmanuelle Missios, a parent at Le Page Primary School ran a Neuro Diverse professional learning workshop for staff. It was very informative, valuable and a great introduction for new staff members. Emmanuelle would like to connect with like-minded people who would like to discuss and raise awareness of Neuro Diversity in schools, and invites you to join the WhatsApp group called Neuro Diverse & Aware to be part of the discussion Neuro Diverse & Aware

Cooking Club at Lunchtime

This year a new Lunchtime Cooking Club began with Jen Hayes, Jacqui Buchanan and Shellie Ryan. Students had opportunity to learn new skills in the kitchen as well as cook some delicious food. This Lunchtime Cooking Club was very popular and will continue in 2023.

Car Parking and Drop Off Reminder

This is a reminder that council has observed some dangerous parking at drop off and pick up times. The Council informed us that they may have traffic officers come to school and begin issuing infringement notices for people not following traffic rules. Obviously, we don't want anyone in our community to be fined. When dropping off and picking up children parents are asked to please park in designated areas on Argus Street or at Le Page Park and walk through the pedestrian gates. Parking is not allowed near the pedestrian crossing for safety reasons. The driveway shouldn't be used as a drop off/pick up place as they are used for pedestrian access. All cars should refrain from parking on the nature strip. If students are crossing Argus Street, they must walk to Dave and cross at the pedestrian crossing.

Let’s Start at the Very Beginning with Habit 1: Be Proactive

During the course of a typical school day, when problem solving with students, we refer to Habit 1 as the starting point for building our character. I am a responsible person. I take initiative. I choose my actions, attitudes, and moods. I do not blame others for my wrong actions. I do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking. As the staff and students work to develop their character from the inside out, a vibrant school culture is evolving that others can feel, hear and see.
