Fantastic 3/4

Year 3/4

Week 8, Term 4

What have we been up to?

In literacy, we have begun exploring narrative texts. We are learning how to write narratives that hook our readers and have explosive language. We have been looking at the structure of a narrative and understanding what parts we need to include in each section of a narrative.

In maths, we are now looking at probability. We are learning the language of probability and understanding how to use the appropriate language to express what is happening. We are also understanding that the different probability words have a percentage meaning too.

In Science, the students continued their research on a planet of their choosing and continued to find a whole lot of information about their particular planet. Students were given the choice on how they would like to present their projects. Students will continue to work on this for the remainder of the term.

In Inquiry, the students have explored what country means and the importance of looking after a country to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We discussed other rules that could help preserve sacred sites and the cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Students will begin a research project on a sacred site of their choice.

Here are some photos of what we have been up to over the last two weeks
