Physical Education
Students have hit the ground running in 2022 at BEPS, experiencing a full year of Physical Education without interruptions. What a year it has been!
Some of the highlights of 2022 have included:
3-6 Athletics Carnivals
Students from years 3-6 trained and competed in a range of track and field events. All students participated, with the top finishers moving onto the District level to compete against other schools.
3-6 Cross Country
In Term 2, students in years 3-6 competed in their different houses in a race of endurance and will power. Students in the under 11 and under 12 age groups ran a distance of 3km, while students in the under 10 age group ran 2km.
F-6 Swimming Program
In Term 3, students at BEPS took part in a ten-day Swimming Program at the Aqua Link in Nunawading. As an important part of the Health and Physical Education curriculum, students were coached by trained swimming instructors about water safety and swimming techniques, including surface propulsion and underwater skills.
Clinics and incursions
Throughout the year, students have been visited by sporting clubs from across the community who have run a number of different clinics. Students were involved in theoretical and hands-on activities, and were exposed to a number of different sports.
5/6 Interschool Sport and Round Robin Days
Year 5 and 6 students had the opportunity to compete against other schools from the Syndal District in a number of sports throughout the year. These included Volleyball, Netball, Football, Soccer Rounders, Tennis, and many, many more!
The Specialist Festival
Students showcased their learning in the PE program, by inviting parents and families to attend the Specialist Festival in Term 3. There were a number of different games and sports happening around the school, and even some of the parents and teachers got involved!
