All the students have been busy completing end of year assessments to show their teacher what they have learnt this year and what they need to keep practicing next year. Well done to all the children who tried their best and took the chance to 'show what they know' - your teachers are very proud of you!
Our Preschool students have been learning about length - they know all about the words 'shorter, taller and longer'. They enjoyed measuring with blocks and know they need to be placed end to end with no gaps or overlaps.
Kindergarten have been extending their knowledge of numbers. Some children even made 3 and 4 digit numbers out of blocks. They have learnt that Mathematicians show their thinking in a clear and organised way and lined their blocks up neatly so that other people could see their thinking. They can't wait to surprise their Year 1 teachers next year with what wonderful Mathematicians they are!
Years 2, 3 and 4 continue to work on solving open ended problems and word problems based on all the different strands of Maths. They have been working well in pairs and as a whole class because they know strong Mathematicians help and teach others.
