This week in Performing and Creative Arts children have been using scarves to explore movement and space. Children worked independently and collaboratively to manipulate their scarf to explore the different ways in which it moves in space. Children explored the different ways to throw their scarf the highest, identifying which methods were successful, as well as playing games and racing the scarf! Children also used their scarves to express various feelings and emotions.

Year 3 children have been inquiring into rules during class time and have carried this over to their Physical Education lessons. Children have developed their own downball agreement, including rules that had to be agreed upon and what it looks like using our college expectations when playing the game of downball. Maybe you would like to challenge someone to a friendly game of downball. All you need is a high-bounce ball and a flat surface. There are many hours of fun to be had!

Some children from the School of Wonder have been exploring the creek freshly filled with all of the recent rains. Amongst the fun and excitement is the hunt for tadpoles! Children are collaborating, communicating and wondering about the tadpole habitat and life cycle and sharing their findings with their peers and school staff.
Year 3 student Charlie brought in some large tadpoles that he found at home, much to the delight of the School of Wonder children. Thanks for sharing your discovery with your peers Charlie!
