Measurement in Maths

As part of their Measurement unit in Mathematics, students in 8L2 planted broad bean seeds in paper cups. They were fascinated to see the green tips of the seedlings that emerged from the soil.

Once the seeds germinated, the growth of the seedlings was measured every second day and recorded. By the start of term 2 most of the plants were close to 30cm high. Students planted the seedlings out into the garden at school.

Students graphed the growth of the seedlings in a line graph for each plant.
